Welcome to The Stone Boat

Dear friends,

The Stone Boat guesthouse has entered a new chapter. After seven seasons of welcoming pilgrims, the house has passed into new hands. My friends Maribel and Carles now care for it as The Pilgrim Stone, and they continue to hold the space with warmth, steadiness, and great heart. It has been a joy to see the house carried forward so beautifully.

The Pilgrim Stone reopens each spring for the Camino season.

As for me, I remain here in the village, now rooted in a quieter and more inward chapter. The Stone Boat has shifted from a physical place into something more spacious, a vessel for stories, writing, and creative work connected to the Camino and beyond.

This season, I am focused on writing, publishing, and shaping new offerings through Stone Boat Editions. More information coming soon.

The Hermitage cottage, which we have offered at times as a quiet writing space, is not available during this main Camino season. It may reopen in the quieter months ahead.

If you are coming through Rabanal, The Pilgrim Stone remains a beautiful place to stay. For those seeking longer or more independent time in the village, there are also a few simple local options that I’m always happy to point you toward.

I also want to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Catmino. Your care continues to make a real difference for the cats here in the village.
